ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” Crowned IFPI’s 2025 Global Best-Selling Single
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) declared the collaboration between BLACKPINK Rosé and Bruno Mars as the top-selling single of 2025 throughout the world.
The announcement demonstrates how far the track has reached its commercial success. IFPI uses streaming data and download numbers from 8000 record labels and physical sales data from global markets to create its ranking system. The October 18 2024 release of APT started its gradual rise which led to its chart dominance throughout 2025.

The single’s success shows how multilingual pop music and K-pop continue to spread their influence throughout the world according to music industry experts. APT achieved international success through its combination of different musical styles and its dual-language musical presentation. The achievement makes ROSÉ the first K-pop artist to top the IFPI Global Singles Chart which creates a major new achievement for South Korean performers in worldwide popular music.

The award marks a return to Bruno Mars to his highest level of commercial success. The Grammy-winning performer had not secured an IFPI year-end global No. 1 since 2011 making this his first chart-topping global single in more than a decade.
The single outperformed other major international releases including HUNTR/X’s Golden and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Die With A Smile which demonstrated the competitive strength of 2025’s music market.
Music executives note that APT may represent a turning point in industry dynamics where cross-border collaborations and non-English tracks increasingly compete at the highest commercial level. The song’s success demonstrates how streaming services are changing music consumption while they lead to an international shift in pop music.
