The world’s most-subscribed YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) has become an unexpected figure in the ongoing legal battle between K-pop powerhouse HYBE, its subsidiary label ADOR, and NewJeans member Danielle, after fans flooded his social media with pleas to intervene.
The campaign, which has trended globally under #MrBeastSaveNewJeans, follows a series of dramatic developments in the long-running dispute between NewJeans and its management. ADOR announced on December 30, 2025 that it had terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract, citing irreparable trust issues and stating it was no longer feasible for her to continue as an artist with the label. Alongside the termination, the label filed a 43.1 billion Korean won (approximately $30 million) lawsuit against Danielle, a member of her family, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, alleging their role in contract violations that disrupted the group’s activities.
The roots of the dispute stretch back to April 2024, when tensions between Min Hee-jin, then ADOR CEO and the creative vision behind NewJeans, and HYBE leadership became public. HYBE dismissed Min as CEO that August, after which NewJeans members declared their trust in the label’s new management had collapsed, unilaterally terminating their contracts and attempting independent activities. ADOR filed suit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contracts, and in March 2025, a court issued an injunction blocking the group’s independent activities, leading to their hiatus after a Hong Kong concert. In October 2025, the Seoul Central District Court ruled the contracts remained valid until 2029, rejecting the members’ bid to terminate them.
While members Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein have since resumed activities with ADOR, and negotiations with Minji are ongoing, Danielle’s exclusion has spurred fans to take action. Turning to the billionaire creator, fans have posted thousands of comments across his TikTok, Instagram, and X accounts asking him to buy HYBE, fund Danielle’s legal defense, or otherwise “save” the group as a five-member act.
MrBeast first responded on January 6, 2026, replying to a news post about the situation with “what do i need to do?”. In a subsequent interaction with another YouTuber, he asked “are they for sale?” when told of fans’ requests to buy HYBE or NewJeans, noting he was trying to understand the situation and suggesting the campaign might primarily be an effort to draw global attention.

Industry analysts have emphasized the impracticality of a HYBE acquisition: the company’s market capitalization was approximately ₹746.88 billion (over $6 billion) as of late 202517<>, far exceeding MrBeast’s estimated net worth of around $1 billion.
NewJeans, which debuted in 2022 and quickly became one of the world’s biggest K-pop acts with five songs charting on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, remains in a state of limbo as the legal and contractual disputes continue.
