Fans of the rookie K-pop group Close Your Eyes have launched a coordinated truck protest in Seoul, calling on the group’s agency “UNCORE” to cancel an upcoming concert in Moscow amid Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine. The demonstration began Monday and is expected to continue for several days, according to fan organizers.

The protest, organized by accounts such as @truck_cye, includes large LED trucks stationed in key districts of Seoul, including Sangam, displaying messages urging the agency to reconsider the April 11 Moscow stop on the group’s debut world tour, Beyond Your Eyes. Fans argue that performing in Russia could damage the group’s international reputation and expose the young artists to political backlash.

In addition to physical demonstrations, fans have reportedly flooded the agency with emails and raised funds to expand the protest, including the rental of a 3.5-ton LED truck. Organizers cited concerns over safety, ethics, and global perception, emphasizing that the war in Ukraine has entered its fourth year with no resolution in sight.
The situation mirrors a similar controversy involving boy group “8TURN“, which ultimately canceled a planned Russia performance following sustained fan opposition. Supporters of CLOSE YOUR EYES fear that continuing with the Moscow concert could overshadow the group’s early career momentum and subject the members to unnecessary scrutiny during a critical debut phase.
Particular concern has been expressed for the group’s youngest member, Seo Kyoung-bae, with fans emphasizing the emotional toll such controversies may place on the maknae. Messages displayed on protest trucks stress protecting the artists’ well-being and preserving the group’s long-term future.
As of publication, UNCORE has not released an official statement addressing the protest or confirming whether the Moscow concert will proceed. Industry observers note that agencies are increasingly facing pressure from globally connected fandoms, where ethical considerations now play a significant role in tour planning and artist management.
Whether the protest will lead to a change in schedule remains uncertain, but it underscores the growing influence of fan activism in shaping K-pop’s global trajectory.
