BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) has emerged as the most searched male music artist on Google in 2025, according to Google Trends data cited by international media outlets including MSN. The data places V among the most searched public figures globally, underscoring his continued visibility during a period when he has been largely absent from active promotions due to South Korea’s mandatory military service.

The same dataset showed pop star Taylor Swift leading overall artist searches and ranking among the top three most searched individuals worldwide. V followed closely behind, becoming the highest-ranking male musician on the list and surpassing several globally recognized figures, including athletes and entertainers from outside the music industry.
Industry observers attribute V’s search volume to a combination of factors. His 2023 solo album Layover maintained steady international interest throughout 2025, driven by its minimalist sound, visual-focused promotions, and long-tail streaming performance. In addition, V’s ongoing presence in fashion campaigns, magazine features, and brand collaborations continued to generate online curiosity despite his military enlistment.

Notably, Google’s official “Year in Search” recap for 2025 focused primarily on breakout artists and trending cultural moments rather than publishing a comprehensive list of most-searched musicians. As a result, independent analysis of Google Trends data has become a key reference point for measuring sustained global interest.
Online discussion following the report reflected a mix of fan reactions and broader public commentary, with many noting that search rankings often reflect both active supporters and general public curiosity rather than organized fan activity alone. Analysts point out that search interest is increasingly viewed as a metric of cultural relevance, particularly during periods when artists are not actively releasing new material.
As BTS members continue to pursue individual paths ahead of the group’s anticipated reunion, V’s position in global search rankings highlights how established artists can maintain public attention through a combination of past work, cross-industry influence, and international recognition even during extended.
