E’LAST Leader Rano Begins Mandatory Military Service, Pledges Growth and Return

K-pop group E’LAST leader Rano has officially commenced his mandatory military service, marking a significant moment in the career of the idol and the trajectory of the nine-member boy band. The announcement, released on February 2, 2026, confirms that Rano has enlisted as an active duty soldier, temporarily stepping back from group activities to fulfill his national duty.

Rano, known for his leadership role in E’LAST and strong rapport with fans, shared a heartfelt message with supporters through the global fan community platform Weverse prior to enlistment. In the message, he expressed profound gratitude for the ongoing support from fans often referred to as ELing acknowledging that their encouragement has been instrumental in his development as both an artist and individual. He also assured fans that his time in service will be an opportunity for personal growth, promising to return “stronger and more mature” after completing his obligations.

On the 2nd, E’LAST’s agency, E Entertainment, announced, “Rano will be fulfilling his military duty as an active-duty soldier. We thank you for all the love you’ve given him, and we ask for your support as Rano returns in good health after completing his service.”

Before his enlistment, Rano posted a handwritten letter to fans on the global fan community Weverse. He said, “I am where I am today thanks to the Ellings who have always been by my side and been with me.” He calmly announced his enlistment, saying, “Now, I will be away from the Ellings for a while to spend new times and have new experiences.”

Rano said, “When I think of the Ellings who always cheer me on, I feel courageous and less worried. I hope you will cherish the E’LAST members while I’m away, and I hope all the Ellings stay healthy and happy.” His words brought tears to fans’ eyes.

Finally, Rano promised, “I will cherish the love you have given me, stay healthy, and come back safe. When I return, I will greet you more matured than I am now.”



E’LAST’s agency, E-Entertainment, formally confirmed Rano’s enlistment, asking fans for their continued encouragement and respect as he undertakes his service. The disclosure underscores the group’s commitment to transparency with their international fanbase, especially following a year of increasing global activities.
