Veteran entertainer Tak Jae hoon has candidly shared the personal stress he experienced during a transitional period in his television career, revealing that anxiety over program stability led to significant weight loss.
The 57-year-old spoke during an online production presentation for SBS’s upcoming variety show “No, But Really!”, also known as Ah Geun-jin, which is set to premiere on February 2 at 10:10 p.m. KST. The event was attended by Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, Lee Soo-ji, and EXO’s Kai, who will appear together on the new program.

During the discussion, Tak reflected on his time on the now-concluded SBS talk show “Dolsing for Men,” where he was a fixed cast member for four years. He admitted that uncertainty surrounding the show’s future had taken an emotional toll. “I lost a lot of weight because I was worried the program might be canceled,” Tak said, explaining that prolonged concern affected his health.

“Dolsing for Men” ended last year after criticism emerged that the show had drifted from its original concept following cast changes. The cancellation marked the end of a long chapter for Tak and his colleagues.
In contrast, Tak shared that he now feels more at ease while preparing for Ah Geun-jin, a character-driven talk show that aims to break away from conventional formats. Fellow cast member Kai commented that Tak appeared more relaxed and confident than before, while Tak humorously noted that he has since regained weight due to feeling more comfortable.
Tak also spoke positively about his chemistry with the cast, emphasizing long-standing professional trust and shared experience. Industry watchers view the new program as an opportunity for Tak Jae-hoon to reestablish his presence in variety entertainment under a refreshed concept.
As Ah Geun-jin prepares to launch, Tak’s honest remarks have resonated with viewers, highlighting the often unseen pressures faced by long-running entertainers navigating change in a competitive industry.
