K-pop artist Kim Won-jun openly addressed how public perception and recurring labels shaped his media image including one tied to top comedian Yoo Jae-suk.
The episode, titled “SHOW! Walking the Flower Road~”, aired this week and featured Kim Won-jun alongside fellow entertainers Jo Hye-ryun, Hanhae, and Grizzly. The panel discussed defining moments in their careers and how they navigate life both on- and off-screen.

Kim, a singer known for the hit song SHOW, reflected on his early days trying to break into the industry, recounting repeated setbacks in auditions and how he eventually pivoted into a successful music career. He shared that his signature track, written early in his career, was chosen as a title song thanks to collaboration with respected musicians of the era.
In the light-hearted yet introspective exchange, Kim also touched on how his earnest comments have sometimes been reframed in variety contexts. Citing a frequent joke made by Yoo Jae-suk, he described being labeled as “boring,” saying with a laugh that he’s “getting tired of it,” a remark that drew laughter from both the studio and viewers alike.

The conversation highlighted a broader industry tension between artists’ intentions and how they are perceived in variety entertainment — a space where spontaneous remarks can become defining soundbites.
Radio Star airs Thursdays at 10:30 PM (KST), and the full episode featuring these conversations is scheduled to repeat on MBC’s digital platforms.
