After eight years together, K‑pop artist Lucas and his agency SM Entertainment have officially concluded their exclusive contract, marking the start of a brand‑new chapter in his career.
The agency delivered the news today through an official notice posted on the artist’s Weverse community page. “Our exclusive contract with Lucas ended on April 24, 2026,” the statement read. “We deeply cherish all the moments shared since his trainee years, through his debut and various activities. We will continue to support and cheer for him wholeheartedly as he takes on new challenges ahead.”
Wong Yuk-hei, known professionally as Lucas, is a Hong Kong‑born artist who first made his debut in 2018 as part of the rotational unit NCT U. He later became a core member of China‑based team WayV and also joined the cross‑group project SuperM, gaining massive popularity across the globe for his distinct visuals, energetic stage presence and multilingual skills.
However, his activities were put on hold in August 2021 after he became involved in personal life controversies. In May 2023, SM Entertainment confirmed that he would be officially leaving NCT and WayV to focus on individual activities, though he remained under agency management until now.
