THE BOYZ member Eric sustained a knee injury while performing on the opening night of the group’s highly anticipated “INTER-ZECTION” concert in Seoul on April 24. The 25-year-old idol pushed through the energetic show but sought immediate medical attention afterward.
According to a statement from concert production company The Bright World, which Eric reposted on his personal X account, the artist underwent an MRI scan and emergency treatment right after the performance. On Saturday morning, he returned to the hospital for a detailed review of the results. Doctors diagnosed knee cartilage damage along with a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Medical professionals advised Eric to avoid excessive movement or intense dancing to allow proper healing, stressing the importance of rest. While the idol himself showed strong determination to deliver a full performance for fans, the production team prioritized his long-term health and safety. For tonight’s second show, Eric will participate while seated during select songs.
The statement read in part: “We deeply empathize with the disappointment that may be felt by the fans who have been waiting and we ask for your generous understanding. We will do our utmost to support the artist throughout his entire treatment and recovery process so that he can make a speedy recovery.”
