BTS Joins Madonna and Shakira for Historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show

FIFA revealed on May 14 that BTS will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup™ Final Halftime Show alongside pop icons Madonna and Shakira. The star-studded performance is set for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium (New York New Jersey Stadium) in the United States, as part of the expanded 48-team tournament co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is curating the show, which will also feature beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets. Produced in partnership with Global Citizen, the event will be live-streamed globally and aims to raise significant funds targeting around $100 million for the new FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The initiative seeks to improve access to quality education and football for children around the world.
This marks a major milestone for BTS, who have long championed global causes. The group previously performed at the 2021 Global Citizen LIVE event, and member Jungkook delivered the official 2022 Qatar World Cup song “Dreamers.” The collaboration brings together K-pop’s global phenomenon with two of music’s most influential female artists for what promises to be a culturally diverse, high-energy spectacle.
