ZEROBASEONE to Headline KCON Japan 2026 Following Lineup Reorganization
ZEROBASEONE will perform as the main act at KCON Japan 2026 which marks a new era for the group after they changed their member composition to five artists this year.
The festival organizers confirmed that ZEROBASEONE will perform at Makuhari Messe between May 8 and May 10 which establishes the group as one of the festival’s main acts. This event marks the group’s first international performance since they ended their activities with nine members in January 2026.
The current lineup consists of Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, and Park Gunwook. The four remaining members of the group decided to stop their contract following the project group’s contract expiration because they wanted to follow their own career paths. The industry observers say that K-pop acts which operate on limited-time contracts tend to experience these changes but they struggle to keep their brand image and fan relationships intact.
Sung Hanbin who acted as a KCON host in previous years will assume greater responsibilities during the upcoming festival. His established rapport with international audiences could prove pivotal as the group reintroduces itself in a restructured format.
Supporters of the group have displayed mixed reactions but most fans continue to back the group. The group members who left the group caused disappointment among some fans but ticket demand indicators and social media engagement show that people highly anticipate the group’s performance at the KCON event.
KCON Japan stands as one of the largest Korean pop culture conventions in the region because it attracts thousands of visitors who attend each year. ZEROBASEONE will use their headlining performance to demonstrate both their ongoing identity and their new artistic evolution while they work to establish their status in the competitive K-pop industry.
