Bekuh Boom, the American songwriter behind some of K-pop’s biggest hits including tracks for BLACKPINK has set off a firestorm online after sharing her experiences working with YG Entertainment. She posted a TikTok series where she laid out what she says happened to her: unfair treatment, arguments over pay, and some pretty questionable conditions while working with the company. The videos spread fast, and people started talking.

She didn’t hold back. Bekuh Boom says YG pressured her into making personal choices by dangling a big paycheck, then pulled the rug out from under her. She also claims they billed her for work expenses, then stopped talking to her altogether leaving her in the dark and raising all kinds of questions about how they treat people behind the scenes.

On here tiktok post, she says: “I was sitting in a room with this guy who, by the way, I don’t work for. Don’t know what he does. From what I know, he’s hired to be another grown man’s professional b—h. But we’re sitting in the room, and I don’t remember exactly what we’re talking about, but then he goes, you know, Bekuh, we have access to all the writers and producers in the world. Like, we could work with anybody we want, but we choose to work with you because you’re willing to accept less. I will never forget that. And I was so shocked, and I went to the person that I’ve done all the songs with, and I told him about it, and he had a great way of kind of, you know, cooling things off and making me feel like, oh, you know, it’s all good, but I never forgot that,” she added.

It gets worse. She describes getting hit with harsh comments about her looks and feeling like she didn’t matter, even after contributing to songs that blew up worldwide. Her story has split fans and industry watchers. Some are backing her up and demanding answers, while others want more proof and an official statement before they pass judgment.

People are also wondering if the artists who performed those hit songs knew what was going on, though there’s nothing concrete to say they did.

So far, neither YG Entertainment nor BLACKPINK’s team has said a word about any of this. The situation’s still developing, and a lot of folks are pushing for some real transparency and maybe an official response.

At the heart of it all, Bekuh Boom’s story is fueling a much bigger conversation about how the music industry treats its creative minds, what’s fair in contracts, and why protecting the people behind the hits really matters.
