Just days after their landmark live comeback at Gwanghwamun Square, BTS has delivered a cultural reset with “ARIRANG,” their first complete group album in nearly four years, and the numbers are already historic.

The septet — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — poured their shared experiences into 14 tracks that reclaim Korean roots through bold hip-hop production. Every song entered Spotify’s global daily chart within hours of release, led by the soaring lead single “SWIM” at No. 1.

Early sales projections shared by industry trackers put first-day figures close to 4 million copies worldwide, a staggering achievement that underscores the group’s unbreakable pull even after military service and solo chapters.

Critics have responded with rare enthusiasm. Rolling Stone UK handed multiple tracks perfect 5/5 scores, while the current Metacritic aggregate sits at 89/100. Particular praise has gone to “Aliens,” a powerful statement against racism that weaves in subtle nods to Korean independence leader Kim Gu, giving the album both emotional weight and timely resonance.

ARMY flooded social platforms with celebration, many calling the project “healing” and “a love letter to our roots.” One fan account summed it up perfectly: “They left as soldiers and returned as kings.”

HYBE has yet to release official sales figures, but sources close to the label say the members personally oversaw every detail to make this return feel authentic. As BTS steps back into the spotlight together, “ARIRANG” isn’t just an album — it’s a declaration that the group’s legacy remains as resilient as the folk song that inspired its name.
