A Media Oulet Faces Backlash for Sensational ‘Love Triangle’ Headline Involving BTS’s Jungkook, aespa’s Winter, and ENHYPEN’s Jungwon

Media outlet Koreaboo has come under fire from K-pop fans for publishing what many describe as clickbait content surrounding unverified dating rumors linking BTS member Jungkook, aespa’s Winter, and ENHYPEN’s Jungwon.

On March 28, 2026, Koreaboo released an article titled “BTS’s Jungkook, aespa’s Winter And ENHYPEN’s Jungwon Embroiled In Love Triangle Drama.” The piece claimed that Jungkook’s recent TikTok activity — specifically his pattern of following or not following certain accounts — was being interpreted by netizens as signs of jealousy toward Jungwon in relation to ongoing rumors between Jungkook and Winter. The article drew heavily from translated netizen comments on platforms like TheQoo and X, presenting fan speculation as the core of the story. It referenced past elements such as alleged matching tattoos and couple items, none of which have been officially confirmed. No concrete evidence, Dispatch reports, or agency statements support any romantic involvement between the idols.

BigHit Music, SM Entertainment, and BELIFT LAB have remained silent on the matter, consistent with their usual policy of not commenting on unverified personal rumors unless necessary.

Fans, particularly from the ARMY, MY, and ENGENE communities, criticized the headline for exaggerating harmless social media behavior into dramatic “love triangle” drama. Many accused the outlet of prioritizing clicks over responsible reporting, noting that such coverage can fuel online harassment and place undue stress on the artists during active promotional periods.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns within the K-pop industry about how English-language media sometimes amplifies fan theories without sufficient verification. While Koreaboo has not issued a response to the criticism as of March 29, the article has sparked wider discussions about media responsibility when covering idols’ private lives.

As Jungkook promotes BTS’s ARIRANG album, Winter continues aespa activities, and Jungwon leads ENHYPEN, fans are urging focus on the artists’ music and performances rather than unsubstantiated gossip.
