YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has officially announced their third mini album CHOOM, scheduled for release on May 4 at 6 p.m. KST, marking another swift step in their rapid rise since debuting in late 2023.
The title CHOOM (춤), meaning “dance” in Korean, hints at a dynamic, performance-driven record. Teasers released on March 30 showcased edgy concepts with black suits, bold pink streetwear, and racing motifs, building excitement among MONSTIEZ, the group’s dedicated fandom. The announcement arrives just over two years after the septet’s debut with “Batter Up,” followed by successful releases including DRIP, HOT SAUCE, and WE GO UP.

In a short span, BABYMONSTER has demonstrated impressive momentum compared to many senior acts, earning praise for their powerful vocals, sharp choreography, and growing global presence. The upcoming mini album is expected to showcase their signature high-energy style while hinting at further evolution.
However, the news also revives hope and concern regarding member Rami, who has been on health hiatus since May 2025 due to a pneumothorax. While no official confirmation has been given about her participation in the May comeback, many fans expressed optimism that she could rejoin the lineup, potentially restoring the full seven-member formation for promotions and the group’s planned world tour later this year.

YG Entertainment has also teased a full album release for October 2026, signaling an ambitious year ahead. The label confirmed plans for the mini album in early March, with the exact date revealed through the group’s official channels.
MONSTIEZ have flooded social media with supportive messages, racecar emojis, and trending hashtags, celebrating the fast-paced schedule while sending well-wishes to Rami. As BABYMONSTER prepares for their spring return, the comeback is viewed as a pivotal moment that could further solidify their position in the competitive K-pop scene.
