Former Pristin Jung Eunwoo Embraces New Chapter After K-Pop Spotlight

Former Pristin member Jung Eunwoo is turning the page on her entertainment career with refreshing candor and a dose of self-deprecating humor. The 28-year-old, who captured hearts as a contestant on Produce 101 before debuting with Pristin in 2017, took to Instagram on Friday to share a glimpse of where life has led her nearly a decade later.

In a short video participating in I.O.I’s viral “Suddenly” challenge, Jung introduced herself simply: “I’m a former idol, Eunwoo.” She then opened up about her current reality. “This is where I am now,” she said, adding that seeing old friends from her trainee days reunite after ten years stirred mixed emotions. “I’m 28 years old, so I can’t just log out of society. If I want to make a living, I have to do something.”

With a playful smile, she dropped her latest career move: “I’ve decided to become a plastic surgery clinic manager. That should be easier than being a successful idol, right?”
The post quickly drew supportive comments from longtime fans, many reminiscing about her bright presence during Pristin’s run and her subsequent activities with the project group Hinapia after the original lineup’s 2019 disbandment. “We loved you in your Pristin days,” one fan wrote. Others wished her happiness in this new phase.

Jung Eunwoo’s journey mirrors that of many young idols who enter the industry through intense competition shows only to face the harsh realities of a short career lifespan. Her candid admission highlights the often-unspoken challenges of transitioning out of the spotlight  balancing public nostalgia with private reinvention. While some former idols pivot to acting, solo music, or influencer work, others quietly build lives away from cameras.

By stepping into clinic management, Jung appears to be prioritizing stability and personal growth. Her willingness to share this transition so openly, blending vulnerability with wit, has resonated with followers who appreciate her grounded perspective.

As the K-pop industry continues to produce waves of talent, stories like Jung Eunwoo’s serve as gentle reminders of the human side behind the glamour. At 28, she’s proving that life after the stage can still be meaningful and even a little lighter. Fans will no doubt continue cheering her on, whatever path she chooses next.
