Global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has achieved another unprecedented feat, as their 2019 hit single Kill This Love has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. This milestone cements the group’s status as trailblazers, making them the first female K-pop act to earn multiple billion-stream tracks on the platform.

Kill This Love is the title track of BLACKPINK’s second EP, released on April 5, 2019. Known for its bold brass instrumentation, high-energy production, and empowering lyrics about ending a toxic relationship, the song became an instant global hit. It follows the group’s 2020 single How You Like That, which currently boasts over 1.21 billion Spotify streams.

With this achievement, BLACKPINK joins Fifth Harmony as one of only two female groups worldwide to have two standalone tracks reach the billion-stream mark on Spotify; no other female K-pop group has yet matched this record. The song’s success extends beyond streaming platforms: its music video broke multiple records upon release and has since accumulated billions of views on YouTube, becoming one of the most-watched music videos of all time.

Fans around the world celebrated the news with coordinated streaming campaigns, a testament to the group’s dedicated global fanbase, known as BLINKs. This latest milestone further solidifies BLACKPINK’s position as one of the most successful female groups in music history.
