BLACKPINK JENNIE has achieved another groundbreaking milestone in her solo career, as her debut studio album Ruby has been awarded Silver certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). This distinction marks the first time a female K-pop solo artist has received a BPI award, cementing her status as a global force in music.
The BPI certification recognizes sales and streaming figures equivalent to 60,000 units in the UK, a threshold Ruby crossed in late December 2025, as confirmed by official BRITs Charts data. Released on March 7, 2025, via her own label Odd Atelier and global partner Columbia Records, the album made an immediate impact upon launch: it debuted at No.3 on the UK Albums Chart, setting a new record as the highest-charting release by a female K-pop soloist in the country’s history.

The album’s enduring popularity is further underscored by its streaming performance. On January 1, 2026 alone, Ruby accumulated 3.36 million streams on Spotify, ranking third among all K-pop albums tracked on the platform that day. Its success is driven in large part by its self-titled lead single “JENNIE“, which continues to resonate with audiences worldwide: the track recently marked its 300th consecutive day on Spotify’s Global Daily Chart, a rare feat for a K-pop solo release.

This latest achievement adds to an already impressive list of accolades for Ruby. Since its release, the album has topped charts in over 30 countries, including South Korea, the United States, and Canada, and has been certified Platinum in multiple regions. It has also earned critical acclaim for its blend of pop, R&B, and hip-hop sounds, showcasing JENNIE’s versatility as both a vocalist and songwriter.
Industry analysts note that the BPI certification is a significant milestone not just for JENNIE, but for K-pop as a whole, as it demonstrates the genre’s growing mainstream acceptance in one of the world’s most influential music markets. As fans continue to stream and support the album, many anticipate Ruby could soon climb to Gold certification, which requires 100,000 units in the UK.
