After nearly a decade apart, the beloved project girl group I.O.I has wrapped up a highly successful promotional run for their third mini-album I.O.I : LOOP, reaffirming why fans have waited so long for their full reunion. The nine members Lim Na-young, Chungha, Kim Se-jeong, Jung Chae-yeon, Kim So-hye, Yoo Yeon-jung, Choi Yoo-jung, Kim Do-yeon, and Jeon Somi delivered a polished and emotionally resonant series of performances that showcased both their matured artistry and unbreakable chemistry.
The title track “Suddenly” (Gapjagi) became the centerpiece of their comeback, blending wistful lyrics about rekindled emotions with soaring melodies. Across major music shows including M Countdown, Music Bank, Show! Music Core, and Inkigayo, the group impressed audiences with fluid choreography that captured the song’s tender longing in the verses and explosive joy in the “Lalala” hook. Live vocals remained steady and harmonious, while intricate formations and heartfelt member interactions created moments of genuine warmth that resonated deeply with longtime supporters.
Beyond the stage, I.O.I dominated conversations. Appearances on popular variety shows like Amazing Saturday, Knowing Bros, Running Man, and Radio Star highlighted their natural charm and individual growth since their 2016 debut. The “Suddenly” dance challenge exploded on social platforms, drawing participation from high-profile artists including Melomance’s Kim Min-seok, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, TWICE’s Sana and Jihyo, and even pro baseball star Yang Eui-ji, whose involvement bridged K-pop and sports fandoms.

Released on May 19, the album reflects on emotions paused for nearly nine years, earning strong digital performance with “Suddenly” claiming top spots on Melon’s charts and showing signs of longevity. Critics and fans alike praised the seamless teamwork and artistic development that made the hiatus feel irrelevant.
This momentum carries forward as I.O.I launches their “2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: LOOP” with a three-day solo concert at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium from May 29 to 31, kicking off what promises to be an exciting Asian tour.
For many, this comeback isn’t just about music it’s a celebration of perseverance, friendship, and the special connection that only a complete I.O.I can deliver. As they continue to loop back into the hearts of fans, the group has once again proven their place as a timeless force in K-pop.
