Kim Soo-hyun’s Legal Team Exposes Bizarre Claims by Key Figure in AI Audio Scandal

In a surprising twist to the high-profile controversy surrounding actor Kim Soo-hyun, his legal representative has shed light on the questionable credibility of individuals behind the alleged manipulated recordings that have rocked the South Korean entertainment industry.

Attorney Ko Sang-rok appeared on News Today on May 28, describing the situation as a “collective and planned crime” designed to dismantle the actor’s career and reputation through fabricated evidence. The comments came days after Kim Se-ui’s arrest on charges including defamation and stalking law violations.

One of the most striking revelations involves the informant reportedly known as “Kali Park,” who allegedly provided the controversial audio files. According to Ko, this individual had previously shared wild stories with acquaintances, claiming he was attacked by a killer supposedly hired by Kim Soo-hyun and later received a personal visit from actor Won Bin offering comfort. These accounts, the lawyer argued, seriously undermine the informant’s reliability.

The legal team further contends that the widely circulated recordings were heavily edited from multiple takes, with original unmanipulated files never submitted for proper verification. Adding to the mystery, the informant has reportedly gone off the grid and cannot be located. Ko also alleged that several KakaoTalk chat screenshots were doctored by altering profile pictures and names to falsely implicate Kim.

The actor’s side has been vocal about perceived media lapses, criticizing outlets for publishing unverified materials. Another lawyer, Bu Ji-seok, who appeared alongside Kim Se-ui in press events, has now been named a suspect in the case.

Financially, the fallout continues to mount. Kim Soo-hyun initially sought around 12 billion KRW (approximately $8.7 million USD) in damages, but his team now estimates losses nearing 30 billion KRW and is considering increasing the claim while expanding the list of defendants.

As authorities press forward with the investigation into evidence fabrication and possible AI manipulation, the entertainment world watches closely. This case highlights growing concerns over digital forgery and its potential to weaponize public opinion against public figures. Kim’s representatives remain committed to pursuing full accountability.
